Unlike collars that can fall off and get lost, microchips are permanent and a safe identification option for pets. They greatly increase your chances of being reunited with a lost or stolen pet, and placing the chip is a quick and easy process.
To remind pet owners of this simple yet potentially life-saving ID option, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association have set August 15, 2015 as "Check the Chip Day."
In honor of Check the Chip Day, Lawrence Animal Hospital will be providing free microchip scanning to pet owners – clients as well as non-clients – on August 15! Anyone whose pet has a microchip is encouraged to stop in and have their pet's chip scanned to make sure it is working.
We will also be available to answer all your questions about microchipping for those who do not have their pet's micochipped, as well as info on how to keep your information up to date for those who do.
Call us at (609) 924-2293 if you have questions, or if you'd like to schedule an appointment to give your pet the gift of lifetime identification.
